Founder and Director

T S Radhakrishnan

T.S. Radhakrishnan is a distinguished artist, educator, and visionary in the world of Indian classical dance. With decades of experience and dedication, he has made an indelible mark on Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Mohiniyattam, and has passionately shared his expertise with students of all ages. Trained under the revered Guru V.R. Surendran, Radhakrishnan began his journey in classical dance at a young age, quickly developing a unique style that blends technical precision with soulful expression.

In 1990, he founded Kalamandhir, a dance school that began with a humble group of 13 students but grew into a cultural sanctuary under his guidance. With his wife, Seema Krishnankutty, as a partner in vision and artistry, he has nurtured Kalamandhir into an institution that celebrates tradition, community, and creativity.

Known not only for his skill but also for his ability to inspire, Radhakrishnan has trained numerous students who have gone on to become professional dancers, teachers, and cultural ambassadors.

Currently, Radhakrishnan serves as the Head of the Fine Arts Department at Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Vaduthala, where he continues to shape young artists, instilling in them the values of discipline, respect, and resilience. His commitment to dance as a lifelong journey is evident in every student he guides, every performance he choreographs, and every initiative he undertakes to promote the arts.
