Seema Krishnankutty’s introduction to dance began at age five under the tutelage of Aroor RLV Sunil Kumar, a path lovingly encouraged by her mother. Seema’s artistry flourished quickly, gaining her a prestigious five-year scholarship by the time she was in the seventh grade. Her achievements in Bharatanatyam and folk dance earned her top accolades in Thuravoor’s sub-district competitions and the Mathrubhumi study circle competitions.

These experiences ingrained in her the values of discipline and artistic commitment, which she would later bring to Kalamandhir. In 1998, Seema and Radhakrishnan united in both marriage and a shared vision for the arts. They built Kalamandhir together with complementary strengths, expanding it from a local dance school into an inclusive institution dedicated to artistic excellence.
